Now, I understand why infatuation occurs! Anyways, that above ain't lyrics =) When you're feeling insecure, and this other person's whole package isn't that bad, you'd wish that the person would/can provide you with the security you wished for. And so you start to develop hope/feelings for that person and there starts the infatuation. I thought the explanation is great =/ I mean it so totally describes what I'm feeling.
